I've started and stopped this post a few times. I think losing Freeman is bigger than we realize. Suddenly the front 7 isn't as deep.
My heart says they can beat the Bucs. My head says I still haven't seen this team enough this season to know who they are.
So....Bucs 24, Bears 16
Unless Danny T is totally healthy and can play lights out for a string of games, I am afraid you are totally right on Freeman. And I don't think that Danny T is ready to go full speed for several games. No reason why I say that. Just afraid that Trevathan is about done.

Well now we are down two ILBs. Pace sure knows how to acquire injury risks.

I see your heavily down on Pace today Belli, and you have every right to be. But, Freeman and Kwiat are not one of those.

Yea. I'm just frustrated.
I am too. We are 3 drafts and 3 free agencies and 3 seasons into the Ryan Pace era. I asked myself after this game, "Is THIS what we should accept as an acceptable work product after three years?"
Maybe. But people turn franchises around in less time and have a better product to showcase than this.
I'm not saying throw in the towel on him. But I have to be honest here. I am frustrated.

Me too. I blamed Pace's 1st draft on Jerry's kids in the scouting dept. But after 2 more we are still watching a shit show. Throw Fox in the mix and it seems hopeless. I thought we'd never see a worse HC than T-man, but he was 13-19 or something like that, and Fox is much worse. Sickening.
And don't get me started on talent. trevathan was a super star in Denver. Sure, he's injured and came back too soon, but why is he repeatedly holding on third down? Is it coaching? I don't know. I'm just sick of watching a crappy team in a death spiral getting worse and worse, and sick of the mumbo jumbo from ownership and upper management about how we're getting better. It's been 4 years since we dumped Lovie Dovie, and rightly so, but come on already.
Fire Fox. Fire fox now. Put Fangio in as HC. Promote Donatelli to DC. Let's see what those guys can do - see if they're worth a shot longer term. if not, we're starting over. Again. but it is necessary. And it's needed sooner rather than later. This season may already be lost, but the rookies need experience. The attitude just isn't there with Fox. Elway was right.

To many young players, to much change over of the roster, to many injuries. This would have been the year to judge his first draft, but most aren't on the roster anymore. Next year and the year after that's when you can judge the last 2 drafts("his drafts"). FA's, freeman/dannyt/mcphee/prince A/sitton/wheaton all hurt, so limited help, even if they are good when they are on the field.
This was never a 3 year change over, especially when you had bad qb play w/no future in place. He's got the qb future, but the rest of the team is literally spending to much time on IR. I have no idea how you build a team that is never healthy, how do you develop guys, how do you create continuity so many of your starters rarely can start.

We are all experts at making excuses for our players and coaches - and for losing - with this franchise. I do it every year too. I guess it is how we survive. But tonight I keep thinking that 3 drafts plus 3 free agencies and we have 9 wins. 9.
I am done blaming past GMs for our present player woes. We should be better at this point, IMHO.
