Hey guys, i do not make it here often but wondering what the board was thinking for first round.
I am coming around more and more to taking a QB. I know it may not be the best value but the position is just to critical. If Pace sees a future NFL starter in this draft I say we take him and groom him in the first round and do not risk somebody else getting him. Hopefully mid-season we will get to see him play some. Personally I like Watson still.
Agreed - depending which QB. I think Watson (maybe Trubisky) is worth that #3 selection. Otherwise, I don't think there's a specific position they should target rather they should focus on getting the best player for their team. My preference right now would be:
1. Garrett 2. Watson 3. Thomas 4. Adams
Depending how that internal eval on Watson goes, I might even take him over Garrett because, as you've said, that QB position is so damned important.

I pretty much agree with this list but my order is a little different. I go 2, 3, 1, 4.
Should make for a very interesting first night. I kinda doubt Pace goes QB at 3 but that's nothing more than a guess. I think if there's a QB there teams are interested in Pace will try to swing a trade down for more picks. Should make for a nail-biter when we finally get on the clock.

Where is everyone else at ??
First of all, you should come here more often Regarding draft, I too dont think he will draft QB at no.3, although im all for Watson, dont have an opinon on Trub. If we stay at no.3 we probably go Garret or Thomas (one of the should be available). If we trade back a few spots, I think we could see a S or CB. If we trade back quite a lot we could def. pick a QB then.
Regarding my top-list I believe its the same as Butkus list

As long as we get one of those four, I'm alright with the decision. No fancy stuff, Pace.
Two fun facts I just noticed about Garrett and Thomas Myles Garrett has the wingspan of a wandering albatross at 35 1/4" Solomon Thomas was born in Chicago, IL.

If I were to put together a mock draft right now, I'd say Garrett goes 1st to Cleveland, Thomas goes 2nd to SF and Watson goes 3 to Chicago. Solomon Thomas went to school in Stanford where he made a name for himself. Additionally, he's probably better suited to a 4-3 than a 3-4 which is what SF is reverting back to under their new head coach.
While I'd like to believe that Glennon was brought in to be something more than a bridge QB, I have a hard time believing that Pace is going to risk the comp. of Glennon to Watson (or any other 1st round QB) all year long. If Watson or Trubisky is there when the Bears pick and they pass on him and that QB end up with a stellar season, Pace has ruined himself in the NFL unless Glennon turns some fricking magic. I think that's too big of a gamble. I think he's safer, in some respects, going big for a QB at 3 and failing than not going big there at all.

I think you have something there. NFL, but especially Bears community is thirsty for new (quality?) QBs
